Mesothelioma is notoriously hard to diagnose. This session will examine the following questions:
- What are the pitfalls in determining whether a cancer is a diffuse malignant mesothelioma?
- What are the gold standard tests for making that diagnosis, and what tests are questionable?
- If the expert knows the disease is mesothelioma, is the asbestos connection clear?
- What is needed to make a reliable connection with asbestos in a mesothelioma case?
- What are the issues?
