BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for the back-end administration, support, creation, and maintenance of the Litigation Support Department's computer hardware, software, and databases. The majority of time will be spent developing, managing and supporting databases created from both hard copy and electronic documents as well as providing technical support for litigation support discovery processes and projects.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the litigation process and understanding of the technology supporting litigation including document management, electronically stored information (ESI) and e-discovery, document productions, document repositories and depositions as well as knowledge of operations including imaging, OCR, coding, electronic file processing.
- Supporting and maintaining image-based litigation technology databases and electronic evidence systems; developing and maintaining the highest level of expertise in the Firm's litigation support processes and applications.
- Administration and support of litigation support software like: LexisNexis' Concordance 8.X, Opticon 3.X, FYI Reviewer, CaseSoft Suite (CaseMap, TimeMap, NoteMap), LiveNote, IPRO, MS Access 2000, MS Excel, Trial Presentation Systems (i.e. Sanction, Trial Director) and text editors.
- Working knowledge of electronic evidence processing software like LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery (ZPrint), Extractiva, IPRO.
- Experience in light scripting for MS Access and Concordance CPLs.
- Performing all database administrative functions associated with implementation of an application such as: design and creation of databases, reports & queries; import, export and manipulate application data and images from a variety of formats; application data conversions; quality control of databases; troubleshooting, application training and support.
- Responsible for quality control of vendor project data including formatting, workflow and content.
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of technical notes, end user and administrative application documentation and project documentation.
- Responsible for supporting Sr. Litigation Support Specialist with Litigation Support functions including, but not limited to, software and hardware issues, application research and development, technical documentation and training.
COMMENTS: This position requires a minimum of 4 years experience in litigation/practice support or legal industry experience. Experience should include working knowledge of network systems and Internet/Citrix based ASP's, Extranets and Repositories, 3rd party production review systems as well as working knowledge of network and operating systems, concepts and software (i.e., MS Platforms, Citrix,). Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, methodical and have great follow-through skills. Must have the ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines with the ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be available to work overtime, including evening or weekends and holidays as needed. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, a combination of relevant experience and an Associate’s degree or technical certification may be considered.
