Scholarships

Schiff Hardin participates in a number of programs that help to provide scholarships to worthy individuals.

  • We were a "silver" sponsor of the "Our Children, Our Future" gala, sponsored by 100 Black Men of Chicago Inc., benefiting that organization's flagship College Scholarship Fair program.
  • We were a sponsor of the 2006 Chicago Football Classic at Solider Field, the proceeds of which support scholarships for minority students.
  • We have contributed to the scholarship funds of the Illinois Judicial Council and the Black Women Lawyers' Association of Greater Chicago Foundation.
  • We contribute to the Justice Allen E. Broussard Scholarship Foundation, benefiting minority students at San Francisco Bay-area law schools.

Minority Law Student Scholarship

In 1999, our law firm created the Schiff Hardin/John J. Waldron Endowed Fund at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. This scholarship fund was established in honor of the late John J. Waldron, a Schiff Hardin partner and Loyola University Chicago School of Law faculty member. Each year, the fund awards a scholarship to a minority student attending classes on a full-time basis who, during his or her first year of law school, demonstrates exceptional academic performance and personal character.

Scholarship winners include:
2007-2008 — Jason Lewis, Parasia Winston
2006-2007 — Kirsten Housing
2005-2006 — Jeremy Daniel
2004-2005 — Lisa Ellison, James Kim
