We are actively involved in FERC proceedings concerning the formation and operation of the nation's first Electric Reliability Organization (ERO). These proceedings involve certification of the ERO, proposed mandatory reliability standards, ERO budgets, and regional delegation agreements.

Schiff Hardin has represented transmission owners in developing new business models to organize for-profit independent transmission companies. We have also assisted transmission owners in forming and joining RTOs. Our firm has represented clients in matters involving transmission rate design and the formation of competitive energy and ancillary services markets.
