Special Tax and Audit Counsel

Schiff Hardin represented a major Chicago-area university, a large suburban hospital system and another regional hospital system as special tax counsel in assisting them to dispose of tax-exempt bond-financed property without causing the bonds to become taxable.

We also successfully represented a state agency and a municipality as special audit counsel in defending a series of contested tax audits of their bond issues by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
