Renee Cipriano, a partner in Schiff Hardin's Environmental Group, will speak at 38th National Spring Conference on the Environment on June 11, 2010. She will moderate a panel titled "Lifecycle Management of Chemicals." This event will take place at the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland.
The panel will discuss whether the reform of TSCA can promote green chemistry and other technological and chemical design innovations across the product lifecycle. The speakers will address these developments, including reference to some chemicals/products (e.g., Bisphenol A, or BPA) for which human health concerns may be addressed in part by making environmentally friendly modifications to existing technologies and formulations. Panelists also will discuss market-driven approaches to product development that do not involve traditional command-and-control regulatory measures.
