Livya L. Heithaus has joined Schiff Hardin LLP as an associate in the Construction Group from Holland & Knight in Chicago.

Ms. Heithaus represents owners, contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in all phases of the private and public sectors of the construction industry.

She handles delay and acceleration claims, mechanic’s liens, contract and payment claims, design and construction defect claims, differing site condition claims and union contracting issues in state and federal courts, before governmental and administrative agencies, and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Ms. Heithaus also advises clients on compliance and self-disclosure issues, surety and bond coverage matters, wage rate issues, collective bargaining agreements, and contract negotiation, interpretation and drafting.

She graduated from American University Washington College of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2006) and the University of Maryland (B.S., International Business; B.S., Logistics and Supply Chain Management, 2001).
