Schiff Hardin LLP's Lawrence M. Gill Appointed Chair of the AICPA's Strategic Planning Committee and Re-Appointed as Chair of the American Bar Association's Audit Committee

As Strategic Planning Committee Chair for the AICPA's 2008-2009 year, Mr. Gill will provide guidance to the Committee with strategic advice to leadership and Board of Directors along with exploring emerging issues with long-term implications for the AICPA and the profession.
Continuing his role as Chair of the ABA's Standing Committee on Audit, Mr. Gill will work with the Committee on recommending the selection, retention and compensation of the ABA’s independent auditors, reviewing internal audit reports and the annual external audits, and in responding to inquiries regarding the Association's financial operations.
Prior to being named Chair of the AICPA's Strategic Planning Committee, Mr. Gill served as a member of the Committee and from 2000 to 2003 served as a member of the Board of Directors of the AICPA, the only AICPA member who was a full-time practicing lawyer on the board. Mr. Gill was Chair of the ABA's Standing Committee on Audit for the 2007-2008 fiscal year and has been a member of that Committee since 2005.
